Its a new year again with a new set of resolutions, time schedules, vows & plans...but not for me.. not anymore..with the new year I decide to break the stereotypical bondations of schedules, targets, tasks to be completed & hell lot of things that make the new year as old & boring as the last & several years goneby. There is newness & freshness in every moment thats coming but we dont acknowledge it,we dont renew with every moment,we harp back on the same old dogmas, perceptions, biases, rigidities that have scarred our minds to make our decisions for the present, and in the process with every new year we only become a year old.Its been rightly said,"One doesn't grow old,its when one stops growing that one becomes old".We dont grow out of situations or circumstances,we remain stuck in them.We dont take lessons and move on in life any more,we take grudges & make our hearts & mind a graveyard to bury them all.How do we explain then the animosities that go on for centuries, the hatred that is passed on for generations with no meaning, reason or relevance in the present context?Unless we clear our slate of conscience & stop living in history, any new year only adds to the number of years that passed by from that event or incident that is history, its not new.
So for me no grudges or backlogs of the past.I learn my lesson & move on...there are many sweet memories & many bitter ones too,i just remember those memories without these flavours, they have a role in shaping me as I am so they were all important, but I dont carry their bitterness or sweetness for these are tastes of that time, they are not permanent nor are they real, these are those incidental emotions which have spurred with the moment as a natural reaction but dont carry much significance in the larger frame of life. For instance a so called sweet incident may turn out sour in years to come & similarly an unpleasant incident say, parents' scolding which at that time makes one cry may turn out to be a boon in disciplining ourselves & face the world for which we thank them now.In the new context that same incident which made us cry some time back makes us laugh today,so its important to detatch the emotions from our memories, for they dont let us flow out of them they keep us attatched to them & thus trapped in past.We are gripped in nostalgia & keep sacrificing our present for past.We cannot change the past but present we surely can.For that we will have to forget & forgive,we will have to clear our souls of the clutter of past,we will have to take in the pure fresh breath of this present which is The Present, gift to our life. This new year give new a new meaning, renew,be a whole new you!Best of living....
